Artie Capozzi, Wood Artist
Mr. Capozzi
is an accomplished woodworker,
working with exotic hardwoods
and creating one-of-a-kind,
commissioned art pieces
with inlays of turquoise and silver.

Mr. Capozzi, a resident artist of Alpine,
lost his home in the Cedar Fire in 2003.
Upon witnessing bulldozers
attempt to clear and dispose of the burnt trees
of his land and his home,
Mr. Capozzi understood
there would be continuance of life
through the devastation.
He began to use the burned
sage roots and manzanita,
as resurrected essences, a reminder that people and nature
can bounce back
from the worst of times. He is now creating
original pieces of furniture and jewelry.
His art, and his message, is named "Phoenix Rising".
